Welcome, and thank you for visiting Kind Counselling.
My name is Sally, I have an MNCPS accreditation and I am qualified L4 & L5 counsellor for all ages, based in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, within easy reach of Lichfield, Tamworth & Ashby.
I am a L4 integrative counsellor, working with children, young people and adults, now qualified at L5 CYP (CPCAB, NCPS accredited). I recently qualified in EFT trauma training which gives gives clients tools to reduce the emotional impact of trauma. My historical background as a primary school teacher and nurture/SEN support led me to work with children with in a more pastoral capacity. I ran a Theatre school for children aged 4-18 years in addition providing support for children with attachment issues. I then volunteered with victim support and Cruse helping bereaved adults and victims of crime before becoming a counsellor . I have provided art therapy and bereavement support to schools. I believe that everyone is unique which is why I am so passionate about each client finding their own path with my support. As a teenager I struggled with my mental health and this has motivated me to counsel CYP during this challenging life stage. Likewise, my experience of bereavement at a young age is what inspired me to volunteer with Cruse for 7 years.
As a counsellor I use a person centred integrated approach to provide support suited to my clients individual needs. I can offer a creative approach which can often benefit clients where talking therapy is less accessible. Clients can choose to explore integrations which they feel will be helpful in gaining self awareness and resilience.
I work with all age ranges and I have extensive training in bereavement and experience of working with CYP, working with neurodiversity and working creatively. I am now a qualified EFT practitioner, this teaches clients to use tools that can reduce the effects of trauma.
Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy - and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.
Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:
